Dysregulation of breathing and autonomic homeostasis
Autonomic nervous system is the part of the nervous system that controls involuntary actions, such as the beating of the heart and the widening or narrowing of the blood vessels.
Hyperventilation
Forceful breathing.
Apnea
Severe pauses in breathing.
Abnormal cardiorespiratory coupling
More severe during wakefulness.
Abnormal sweating
Decreased heart rate variability
Cold extremities
A consequence of altered autonomic control.
Sleep abnormalities
